I can not believe it’s been a year since my last post, work can do that to you sometimes and toss in a little WoW Classic and it’s a recipe for disaster apparently. I’m going to get started on a few things namely exploring other options for HA disks for websites because my glusterFS decided to eat itself and documentation on fixing the problem is horrible. If your arbiter brick dies you’re in for a mess folks and that’s exactly what happened.
It would be nice if blog software could just be cluster aware and when a post is done it copies media to all other servers and be done with it. Ansible can handle patching, but media is where things get weird.
I did look at AWS EFS and just for 10gb it’s cheap, but the performance can be terrible. I’m still interested in it, but I have to work out the kinks. I still light the lightsail side of things, but I’ve gotten a lot more experience in the AWS side of the house that I’m exploring setting up a new cluster just gotta work out the costs.
